Our Current Programs
At The Desire Foundation Inc., we are dedicated to transforming lives and fostering hope in the heart of Central Florida's Parramore community. We understand that the right support can change the trajectory of a person’s life, which is why we offer a wide range of programs designed to meet the essential needs of our community members.
The organization's efforts encompass a range of activities, including:
Providing monthly groceries to those who need it.
Facilitating job placements and assisting with applications
Conducting resume workshops and job readiness
Assisting individuals in obtaining identification documents
Ensuring access to essential daily necessities such as haircuts and clean clothes
Connecting with organizations that provide resources that most don't know exits
Pantry
We believe that access to nutritious food is a fundamental right. Our Pantry program provides a dignified shopping experience where community members can choose from a variety of fresh, healthy food options, including canned goods, meats, vegetables, and more. Pantry pickup is available by appointment only.
Office hours
Launched in January 2023, our Office Hours program operates quarterly providing diverse services such as job application assistance, resume building, and government program navigation, including ID and birth certificate support. This program has been instrumental in addressing the critical needs of our community members.
Project 814
Initiated in the autumn of 2020, Project 814 has been a cornerstone of our community engagement at The Desire Foundation. These events, hosted in collaboration with Interstruct, have significantly contributed to the welfare of the Parramore community, including those affected by homelessness. The initiative has facilitated thousands of meaningful interactions, distributing hot meals, groceries, clothing, and essential community resources.
Thanksgiving With a Friend
Thanksgiving with a Friend’ embodies our commitment to sharing the holiday spirit with those in need. Over the past three years, this initiative has brought warmth and nourishment to the Parramore community, celebrating Thanksgiving with compassion and generosity.
Join us for this special day as we offer a full Thanksgiving meal to families in Parramore. Our support extends beyond the feast; we’re dedicated to providing additional resources to enhance the well-being of our attendees. This includes complimentary haircuts, hygiene bags, and a variety of clothing options from our outdoor ‘Love Closet’. This program is a chance to forge connections, offer support, and uplift each other during the holiday season.
Kids Field Day
This community event is a wonderful opportunity for kids to enjoy a day filled with fun activities and friendly competitions. Dive into the excitement with water slides, enjoy classic games like cornhole and Giant Jenga, and challenge yourself with inflatable basketball and putt-putt games. Savor delicious BBQ, hotdogs, burgers, and sweet treats like snow cones, popcorn, and cotton candy at our free concession stand. Open to the entire community, this event promises a delightful summer day for families and children to come together and create lasting memories.

"A Holiday Hand" is an enchanting event designed to bring the spirit of the holidays directly to our community, ensuring that families and children experience a day full of joy, laughter, and festive activities without having to travel far. The event features a variety of holiday-themed stations, including a chance to meet Santa, engage in gingerbread house-making, and enjoy interactive play areas. Highlights include sipping hot chocolate at a festive bar and creating lasting memories through fun activities. As the day ends, families take home not only toys but also a heartwarming experience, making "A Holiday Hand" a truly magical and unforgettable celebration of the holiday season.
